Health Bill gives Obama a Ready Reserve Corps!

What does Obama's health care law contain provisions for a Ready Reserve Corps that reports to him?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the language, but it looks like the President will be appointing the officers and using them for national emergencies. Remember, Adolf Hitler had has own army. I truly hope that I'm misinterpreting this bill, but it doesn't look good.

I will add that the bill only gives 5,000,000 dollars to the project every fiscal year with an addition 12,500,000 each fiscal year for training, so the program can't be anything like Hitler's SS. So there's no need to panic. It just looks really strange to me.

Read the bill for yourself. The section that discusses the Ready Reserve Corps begins on page 1310.

200,000 American could lose Unemployment Benefits

I'm sure you guys hear about the major FBI raid on a Christian militia group operating in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. Apparently, some of the seven men who were arrested were charged with gun violations. I wonder if they are being accused of selling or illegally possessing automatic weapons. The information is very limited. I think we should keep an idea of this one.

Meanwhile, it looks like over 200,000 Americans will run out of unemployment insurance after April 5. Millions of unemployed people are living off of federal extended unemployment benefits. Many of these families are on the brink. What happens when the benefits are cut?

The Decline of America and the Rise of China!

David Murrin, the co-founder of Emergent Asset Management hedge fund manager, told CNBC that the American Empire is in decline. In fact, he believes that all of the western, Christian empires (e.g the United Kingdom) are going to quickly decline. Murrin foresees the quick rise of China. He sees the red nation will expand and dramatically develop their military and economic power.

Personally, he seems like a neo-con who is right about the symptoms, but wrong about the cause. The problem isn't that America is showing weakness. The people is that America has overextended by sending more resources than it produces.

Obamacare WIll Pass!

By a vote of 224-206, the House of Representatives took a giant step toward passing Obamacare through the chamber. Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like the Democrats are victorious. And so are the Republicans. I firmly believe that the GOP is praying that the Democrats pass this bill, because their entire 2010 campaign strategy depends on it. The GOP isn't interested in doing what's best for the American people, the Republicans want to gain more seats.

So three things will happen this year:

1) Obamacare becomes law.

2) The GOP gains at least 35 seats in the House and 7 in the Senate.

3) Government will grow even bigger (actually, the bill won't kick in until much later).

Do you think the Democrats will get Obamacare through?

November 2010: Democrats will be DOOMED!

Democratic pollsters Patrick Caddell and Douglas Schoen have conducted the research and the message is clear. If the Democrats in Congress ignore the public's opposition to Obama's health care bill, the consequences will be dire. In 1994, Democrats desperately tried to pass an unpopular health care reform and it lead to an electoral wipe out. Now, Democrats are passing a unpopular health care bill that doesn't even have a public option. What exactly is this bill? There's not a lot for liberals to cheer, but Obama keeps insisting that the American people accept this awful government power grab. It's a 940 billion dollar government power grab and the American people see right it.

When Americans are asked about health care, the numbers are painfully bad.

Jim Rogers: Crisis Isn't Over

I think Jim Roger's 2,000 dollar/ounce for gold forecast is safe. Plus, I think about Obama's health care bill, the Federal Reserve's willful ignorance, 22,000 California teachers receiving pink slips and the Johnny Weir/Stars on Ice controversy.

Gerald Celente Predicts GREAT WAR!

In June 2008, the country was engulf in the thick atmosphere of political conflict. Republican John McCain and Democratic Barrack Obama were in engaged in one of the most important (and wasteful) presidential campaigns in American history. The nation was divided and I felt compelled to share my opinion. So I did something that I never thought I would be capable of doing, I started my own Youtube channel. Thanks tot the economic warnings and wisdom of International investor Peter Schiff and Trends Research Expert, Gerald Celente, I quickly learned where this country was headed. I stopped worrying about elections and started preparing for the Second Great Depression.

Unlike the clowns on Wall Street, Gerald Celente saw this crisis coming. over the years, he has correctly predicted the 1987 Stock market crash, the dot cam bubble popping and the recent financial collapse. So when this guy speaks, you better listen.

Gerald Celente has correctly predicted the appearance of tax protests, taxes rising and a great depression. Now, he not only sees a great depression, but the possibly of a Great War in our future.

Obama to Teachers: You Should be Fired!

Okay, so Obama didn't fire the teachers of Central Falls High School, but when he found out that all 93 teachers and staff when fired, the praised the school for upholding accountable. I wonder how many of those teachers voted for Obama? And I wonder how they feel about the guy now.

Personally, I find it amusing that when a school system fails, people always blame the teachers, but they never blame apathetic parents or unmotivated students. At what point will we consider the millions of incompetent parents in this country as being the biggest problem with the education system. The students at Central Falls are under-performing and there needs to be accountability, but firing all of the teachers was an attempt to divert blame.

Are you a teacher who voted for Obama? Do you regret it?

MISH and FABER's Sour Forecasts

Michael "Mish" Shedlock (MISH'S Global Economic Trend Analysis) believes that the opportunities in the 2010 market will be few and far in between. Unfortunately, Marc Faber's forecast isn't any more optimistic. Mish believes that there's a 50% chance that the market could test the 2009 lows, while Faber believes that America is headed toward an inflationary nightmare. The interesting thing about this video is that both of these guys view Japan a alocation for potential growth.

Are Food Stamps Higher than Mid-1990 Levels?

39 Million Americans are now living on food stamps. One viewer told me that the current level wasn't much greater than the levels in the 1990s when you adjust the ratio to population.

So let's do that.

There are currently 308 million Americans in the United States and 39 million are on food stamps.

So to calculate the percentage of Americans on food stamps, we'll have to divide 39 by 308.

39 million /308 million = 12.6% of the current population

Food stamp program participation peaked in the 1990s at 28 million. It peaked in 1994 and 1995 when the population was around 263 million.

28 million/263 million = 10.6% of the 1995 population

So if 10.6% of the population lived on food stamps in 1995 and 12.6% are living on food stamps in 2010, we have see an increase of more than 18% since 1995.

Final Answer: We have a significantly greater participation now than what we had in the 1990s.

Here's a 1992 article that states that 1 out 10 Americans were on food stamps.

The Second Monkey: Shooter Targets Pentagon!

If Joe Stack was the first monkey, maybe John Patrick Bedell is monkey number 2. The 36 year old man drove hundreds of miles to storm the Pentagon with two semi-automatic rifles and engage in a shootout with security forces. Bedell was shot in the head and no officer was killed. Many people hoped that the Joe Stack incident was an anomaly, but I think it's becoming clear that this anti-government wave has some legs.

If you can recall, Stack was the guy who flew a plane into the IRS headquarters in Austin, TX in February 2010.

Michael Ruppert, freelance investigator, told the story of a scientific experiment on in island in which researchers tried to teach monkeys how to clean fruit before eating it. The experiment took place after the island had been nuked. Researchers placed thousands of monkeys on the island to see if they could survive. The scientists managed to teach some monkeys have to clean the bananas before consuming them. The interesting thing is that when the 100th monkey started to clean the fruit, the rest of the monkeys followed suit.

It only took 100 monkeys to influence the behavior of thousands.

So are these anti-government attacks just the beginning?

"Doomsday cycle"

A new report by economists and former regulators states that the financial system is in a "doomsday cycle" where banks borrow money to engage in foolish risks. It sounds like the "too big to fail" banks are up to their usual tricks. And remember what Albert Einstein said, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." The panel expects an even larger crisis to emerge soon.

I've said it once and I'll say it again.

Darth Bunnings Strikes Back!

We've all heard about Sen. Jim Bunning's efforts to block the vote on unemployment benefits. But after a confrontation between Bunning and journalists at an elevator, I think I've made up my mind about this mean old man.
At first he claimed that he was taking a stand on reckless government spending, which I can respect. Bunnings said:

"I believe we should pay for it... I'm trying to make a point to the people of the United States."

But then I watched him utter these words on the Senate floor:

"I have missed the Kentucky-South Carolina game that started at 9:00 and it's the only redeeming chance we had to beat South Carolina since they're the only team that has beat Kentucky this year."

I think Bunning's bitter, because he's being forced into retirement. I doubt he cares about people at all. I think he's like virtually all American politicians, he only cares about his career, his money, his family and himself. Now, millions of families will lose their benefits because of his selfishness. Thus doesn't seem like an act of courage, but an act of mischief. If he's so concerned about government spending, why doesn't call for the end of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He voted for the surge in Iraq and has supported Republican spending for years, so there's no excuse for him to deny people's unemployment benefits.

Bunnings
Voted NO on redeploying US troops out of Iraq by March 2008.
Voted NO on redeploying troops out of Iraq by July 2007.
Voted NO on investigating contract awards in Iraq & Afghanistan
Voted NO on redeploying non-essential US troops out of Iraq in 9 months.

If he can fund war abroad, why can't he help people at home.

Here's an idea, since it costs about $10 billion/month to fund unemployment, why don't we end the $10 billion/month wars so we can afford unemployment benefits in America?

Just a thought.

Now, I know that we can't keep unemployment going forever, but at least we can spend our money on the people who need it most.
