Government Confiscates Doomsday Prepper's GUNS!

***SHOCKER***
One of the featured personalities of National Geographic's documentary series Doomsday Preppers, has lost his right to own firearms. After making a joke about suicide with his cardiologist, David Sarti has forcibly taken to a hospital and declared "mentally defective." The government confiscated his firearms. He now has no avenue for reversing the decision and has declared his preps to be over. He now believes that there is no point in prepping since he no longer has a means of self defense.

"I figure if the poop hits the fan, I'll be dead. I can't run. I can't defend myself."

The saddest part is that after being on television and displaying his extensive emergency preparation, he is now in a position where he can't do the things he loves most. Now as many of you know, I was very critical of the show. I thought it presented preppers in a negative light. And there's no evidence that the show lead to this most unfortunate development. However, I can't help but wonder if his doctor saw this show. Maybe I'm being unreasonable, but I think this guy may have been unfairly targeted. Or maybe there is something that he isn't telling us?

CORRECTION: It looks like the show had nothing to do with his problem. And there was more than one doctor that considered him to be a danger.

Tell me what you think. Is Doomsday Preppers good for the community?

David Sarti is a popular youtuber under the name Dsarti.

  1. I don't think his "prepping" had anything to do with it. My wife is a Nurse Practitioner and says that they're required to take threats of suicide very seriously. Now I know, from what Dave says, that he just made the comment off the cuff and meant it in a dark humorous/sarcastic way. It doesn't appear the Dr. took it that way. I don't think that Dave should have been forcibly removed from his home. Held for an extended amount of time under duress and then eventually found mentally defective which in turn left to his firearms being removed under state law. A very good example of the gov overstepping it's reach.

There is an online petition. Attempts to get support from the NRA/GOA. Youtube videos. And a letter writing campaign to see if they can help Dave.
