Rand's Support of Romney Raising Questions About Ron Paul

By Reginald Kaigler (DEMCAD)

Senator Rand Paul, son of libertarian figure U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, recently endorsed Mitt Romney. The GOP nominee is known for supporting the banker bailouts, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, his push for bigger government and his  about bombing Iran. Now many of Ron Paul supporters were horrified by the announcement, but this should come as a surprise.

I don't think Ron Paul ever intended to win the race. His campaign schedule was never as packed as Romney. In fact, Paul's schedule was light in 2008 when McCain need some political cover.

In 2012, Ron Paul provided cover for Romney in the debates and now he's dialing down the campaign, because the true objective has been fulfilled. The man never campaigned like a guy who wanted to win. I think Paul ran for president to support his son's political career. I think he used the Alex Jones base to promote his son and ultimately create a political place for his son. Ron Paul's job in 2012 was to help Romney and then his son would have a secure place in the party. Paul attracted the criticisms of the socially conservative and neo con candidates while Romney flew under the radar.

After Santorum endorsed Romney, Paul was asked when he was going to endorse Romney and his response was..."Well, I'm still thinking about that. Not soon because..."

Not soon? How can a supposed libertarian even think about endorsing Romney?

Here are some more questions, but these are aimed at the people who still support Ron Paul.

Do you think Paul was endorse Romney without his father's approval? Don't you think it's odd that Ron Paul has been so quiet on his son's endorsement of Romney? Don't you think it was strange how Paul provided cover for Romney doing the debates? Don't you think it's odd that Paul never campaign aggressively and challenged Romney more in key states? Don't you think it's odd that Paul never as a third party candidate? Don't you think it's odd that when Ron Paul was asked about endorsing Romney, his response was "Well, I'm still thinking about that. Not soon because."

Not soon? That's odd.

  2. After reading this I feel a little bit betrayed by Ron Paul. I don't know what to think. I guess I need to think Gary Johnson.

  3. You are right on. If Ron Paul was actually a threat he would have been assassinated!
