Connecticut Gun Law Turning Armed Citizens into Criminals?

By Reginald Kaigler (DEMCAD)

What's happening in Connecticut is not only unconstitutional, but downright irresponsible. Following the Sandy Hook shooting in December 2012, the CT legislature decided to ignore the second amendment and restrict gun rights by creating a state registry system that would require every so called "assault rifle" and high capacity magazine in the state to be registered by the end of Dec. 31st, 2013. This draconian law was passed by Democrats under the claim that it would make the public safer.

But there was never any evidence that such a law could ever increase public safety. For years, gun control advocates claimed that the pro-second amendment crowd was 'paranoid' to assume that registration would lead to confiscation. Despite the fact that there's a long list of historical precedents that show that governments often use registration as a perquisite to confiscation, the gun control crowd often lied about the ramifications of government forcing people to register their rifles.

Connecticut Gun Owners Ignore Registration Deadline

In Connecticut, gun owners have been forced to into a corner. The government has made it clear that they have two options: register their firearms or risk being charged with a felony. Remember, the new law requires that every magazine that held over 10 rounds must be registered. The deadline has passed and many people registered their guns. But the registration is very low. Thousands of gun owners were late in registering and therefore received letters from the State Police warning them to turn in their guns. Because the registration letters arrived late, the government now knows that they have unregistered rifles and this puts these particular gun owners into a very bad spot.

What should they do?

This maybe a good time for them to visit an attorney. Some people may choose to hide their weapons. And if the police come looking for these gun owners, we could see the beginning of a very nasty trend. No one wants to see a confrontation at someone's doorstep. The police may decide to go after these people or just ignore the list. Whatever these gun owners do, they shouldn't break any additional laws. For example, although it is legal for the police to lie to you, it is illegal for you to lie to the police. So don't provide false statements to the police.

The U.S. Constitution vs. Legislative law

I came across an interesting video on Youtube that featured a citizen of CT calling an officer and asking if he was going to enter gun owners homes and confiscate their weapons if a GUN OWNER REFUSED TO TURN IN AN UNREGISTERED GUN.

The most fascinating aspect of the phone conversation was the officer's declaration that he didn't want to talk about the constitution. the offficer insisted that he would follow the law and would only consider it unconstitutional if the U.S. Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional. This is interesting because officers are sworn to unhold the U.S. Constititution. Here's my question to that officer and any officer: If Congress passed a law ordering the indefinite detaining of all Black Americans and the U.S. Supreme Court declared it constitutional, would you still support such a measure?

It seems to me at some point, the police must decide that protecting the people is a higher priority than serving politicians. I understand that most officers are not psychotic assholes on a power trip. Most are normal people who just want to do their jobs. But I think the law enforcement community needs to have this very important discussion.

Prediction

I doubt the Sate Police will start to target gun owners, but if there's a domestic violence call, the police may have a reason to search a home and therefore use the gun law against a gun owner.

How do you think this law will be enforced?

Questions about AK Rifles and Ammo

 By Reginald Kaigler (DEMCAD)

Viewer Question

"I overheard a conversation at my local gunshop and wanted to know your thoughts on the subject. Two gentlemen were discussing cheap 7.62x39 namely tul ammo and wolf, they said that due to the cheap metals that are used to make this ammo that by roughly 4,000 rounds said ammo will ruin the barrel in your ak47. Being that it is not an easy task to replace a barrel in an ak, what are your thoughts."

My Response,

This is why I tell people to conduct their gun research before going into a gun shop. I've never heard so much bullshit and false information as I've heard walking into gun shops. The salesmen often don't know what they are talking about. Frankly, if the salesman is under 50, I would ignore him. I'm kidding. Well, not really. Generally, the old guys tend to be the ones who know what they're talking about.

As far as the customers, too many people repeat crap they've heard from people who know nothing about the product. Last year, I walked into a gun shop, asked a 20 something salesman about the AKs and he gave me some dumb joke about the AKs and talked about the superior accuracy of the AR. The idiot then showed me a rifle he referred to as a Czech AK. There's no such thing. It was a Vz-59. Despite having the same caliber, he had no clue that the guns had two very different designs and they didn't even accept the same magazine.

Now it's true, you will need a gunsmith to get the new AK barrel replaced. However, it will take a hell of a lot of ammo and usage to wear a barrel out. Unless you rapid fire with corrosive ammo for two hours 7 days a week for the 10 years and never clean it, I doubt you'll have to worry about it. It's okay to repeat fire sometimes, but keep in mind that excessive heat is what helps the friction wear the barrel out over time. Few people have the money to wear a barrel out.

As far as Russian ammo, just clean the rifle after you shoot it. I prefer to stick with non-corrosive ammo as it is easier to clean the rifle after shooting. I've shot Wolf (Military Classic and Black box), Golden Bear, Brown Bear and Golden Tiger with absolutely no problems. Just clean the rifle and you'll be fine.

ASK DEMCAD: Picking a Concealed Carry Pistol

By Reginald Kaigler (DEMCAD)

My name is Reginald Kaigler and I have documented my journey as a prepper on my Youtube channel(DEMCAD. I acquired my CPL (Concealed Pistol License) in the state of Michigan in the year 2011 and I've been conceal carrying my Glock 21everyday since. And by everyday, I mean, absolutely everyday. When I leave my house, I carry my Glock. I don't carry if I'm just going to the car or mowing the lawn.

Comment from Pallyforyou (on Youtube)

Demcad, I am on a budget and I would like to get a pistol. The problem is that I know a full size pistol like a sig 226 or glock 17 is better for a shtf or home defense situation but I don't think I would carry it concealed very consistantly, So is it better to buy a small compact or subcompact like a keltec pf9 or kahr cm9, or just get a full size?

I would not recommend Keltec. I'm concerned about their consistency. I would consider a (Glock 19 Gen 3, not Gen 4 because I am concerned about the consistency of that generation). It's a compact 9mm with 15 rounds. It is extremely reliable. It will shoot just about anything style of ammo. I would also recommend you go to a shooting range that allows you to rent guns out. Try some full size guns, compacts and sub-compact pistols and see what you like. Consider the Smith ans Wesson M&P compact and Springfield XD series.

I know you have a budget, but this pistol has to be reliable. Your life may depend on it. I like to conduct a lot of research on the guns before I even enter the store. You can't rely on a salesman to give you proper information.

Here is my criteria.

Reliability
Service Record
Reasonable Accuracy
Ammo Availability
Magazine Availability
Parts Availability

If you can't find the ammo in stores, how can you practice with it on a regular basis? If you have to pay 60 dollars per magazine, how many magazines will you end up buying? If it jams every other time you go to the range, how do you know it won't jam when you need it the most?

I prefer pistols that have been proven in the field of law enforcement and military. I understand that you are on a budget, but I recommend that you save your money for a gun you can really trust. Put a pistol on layaway if you want. I recommend you try the guns out for yourself. Get a CPL in your state (if you can), research the laws and enjoy.

Iceland Rules! Colorado Has Gone Mad!

By Reginald Kaigler (DEMCAD)

Iceland Rules

Ladies and gentlemen, this is how you do it?

Kaupthing chairman Sigurdur Einarsson and other executives at Kaupthing bank are being charged for manipulation conspiracies in Iceland. This is what we need to do in America? When an executive committs fraud, make him or her face the music.

Remember, when Congress insisted that we needed to bail out the bank or the sky would fall?

Well, Iceland told the bankers to screw off and they're doing better because of it.

Take note.

Icelandic bank Kaupthing's top executives indicted over market rigging

Unemployment

In the week ending March 16, the seasonally adjusted initial claims was 336,000. So we have less people on unemployment benefits. Are move people working or are people simply running out of benefits?

Unemployment benefits drop

Assault Weapon Ban Dies

Apparently, Vice President Joe "The Fire Your Shotgun Out Your Window" Biden is still pushing for this ridiculous assault rifle ban. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid is letting it die in the Senate, but let me remind you that the antiguns will never stop fighting to enslave us.

Biden Not Giving Up On Assault Weapons Ban

Speaking of guns, Colorado has lost its mind. The governor signed a law banning magazines with a capacity greater than 15, while setting up a registration and special background check for private sales.

Colorado Gov. Hickenlooper signs gun control package

The media highlighted that the urban police chiefs supposed the law. But as we all know, police chiefs are nothing more than politician lapdogs for this liberal mayors. Will voters punish Democrats in 2014?

Sandy Hook Tragedy Used For Gun Control?

By Reginald Kaigler (DEMCAD)

Days after a mentally unstable man stole an AR-15 rifle and two pistols from his mother and went on a shooting spree that resulted in the deaths of at least 20 children and 6 adults, politicians are calling for gun control. Despite the fact that the man acquired the guns illegally and violated the so called gun free zone to kill innocent people, Democrats are now coming for more gun control.

Currently, the law makes it illegal for anyone (including principals, teachers and parents) to bring firearms onto school property. Unfortunately, the mass shooter decided to ignore that law and therefore enjoyed a target rich environment with defenseless victims.

Instead of Congress acknowledging the failure of the so called no gun zone laws, they have doubled on a new call for even more gun control. Apparently, Obama and the Democrats are convinced that new laws will deter criminal behavior. But I don't think an assault rifle ban is about making people safer. it's about control. The mainstream media and the politicians are looking to restrict liberty. They are not interested in empowering anyone but themselves. And now we're seeing people's true colors.

Fake conservative Joe Scarborough (yeah, one of Mitt Romney's cheerleaders) is now calling for gun control.

"our Bill of Rights does not guarantee gun manufacturers the absolute right to sell military-styled high-caliber semi-automatic combat assault rifles with high capacity magazines to whoever the hell they want."

 Let's review the U.S. constitution.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The second amendment is not about hunting or sports. It's about making the government recognize the people's natural right to defend themselves from tyranny (i.e. Nazi Germany and Soviet Union.)

Online retailer Cheaper Than Dirt! has suspended sales of firearms.

"Cheaper Than Dirt! has temporarily suspended online sales of firearms. As a long time supporter of the Second Amendment, Cheaper Than Dirt! will continue to promote the safe and responsible use of firearms by law abiding customers. During this temporary suspension, we will review our policies and promotions."

They're not the only ones. Look at Walmart and Dick's Sporting Goods pulling certain types of guns off of the shelves in some stores.

Here's a message from Dick's Sporting Goods.

“We are extremely saddened by the unspeakable tragedy that occurred last week in Newtown, CT, and our hearts go out to the victims and their families, and to the entire community.”
“Out of respect for the victims and their families, during this time of national mourning we have removed all guns from sale and from display in our store nearest to Newtown and suspended the sale of modern sporting rifles in all of our stores chainwide.”

So their response is to make it more difficult for law abiding citizens to defend themselves, because a psycho shot a lot of unarmed people who couldn't defend themselves. Think it through, Dick!

Gun owners now have an opportunity to see who is really a supporter of the second amendment and who's just lying. A lof of so called pro gun Democrats are revealing their true colors and I think we'll see if the Republican Party really is pro-second amendment. 2012 GOP Presidential nominee Mitt Romney actually signed an assault rifle ban in Massachusetts. So will the House Republicans cave or stand their ground? Will the American people publish law abiding gun owners? I remain pessimistic.

In closing, the same politicians and media types who sold us out with the banker bailout (TARP), are the same ones who supported the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, National Defense Authorization Act and now possibly a new assault rifle ban. So I'll leave you with my favorite quote. And I don't care if it's a perfect quote from Benjamin Franklin or not. True words have never been spoken.

"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Another Gun Free Zone FAILURE!

By Reginald Kaigler (DEMCAD)

Sadly, we can add one more nation to the long list of failures for the so called gun free zones. These are areas that government officials have declared gun free areas. In other words, no law abiding citizen is allowed to bring a firearm into these areas. Predicatively, these are also the areas that mass shooters choose to kill people. Recently, a man used two handguns and a 223 rifle to shot and murder 20 children and 6 adults at an elementary school in Connecticut.

So do gun free zones actually work?

Let's see...

Columbine gun-free zone!
Virginia Tech gun free zone!
Amish school gun free zone!
Sikh temple shooting!
Aurora Theater gun free zone!
Oregon Mall gun free zone!
Connecticut school gun free zone!

We don't need more gun control. There's not need in trying to restrict the gun rights of good people, because the bad ones will never obey the law. We need to empower more good people to stand up to the bad ones by removing gun free zones.

Anti-Gun Laws Could Get People Killed During COLLAPSE

 By Reginald Kaigler (DEMCAD)

There's foolishness and then there's Illinois. Remember Chris Rock's comedy piece about fighting crime by making people pay an insane amount for bullets? If not, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinklemay seems to have taken the idea and run with it. Preckwinkle is proposing a new set of taxes on firearms and bullets. The proposal calls for a nickel per round tax and an additional $25 tax for each firearm. Preckwinkleis convinced that this will lower crime and raise more tax revenue. After all, we all know criminals don't steal ammo. What's fascinating about this idea is that we know that it will not work. Chicago has some of the most extreme anti-laws in the country. Law abidding citizens are not allowed to carry firearms, yet the city has had 409 homicides this year alone. Granted, it's not as bad as the early 90s, but most of the crime is coming from gangs, not the average Joe at a shooting range.

Official proposes bullet tax to curb Chicago crime

But this anti-gun foolishness has sparked a rather gloomy thought in my mind about how these people will fair if law and order breaks down. What would happen to these anti-gun proponents in a full-scale collapse scenario? I'm not survivialist, but I think it's safe to say that by not preparing for a situation that requires self defense is setting oneself up for failure. Let me be frank, criminals don't care if you're anti-gun. If society breaks apart, people will become desperate and dangerous. A Glock 17 or a Sig Sauer maybe the only thing that prevents a single mother from getting raped or a married man from being stabbed to death by home invaders. I don't care if you like guns. I don't cars or cellphones, but I need a cellphone and car for my job. When it comes to guns, people will have to do what it takes to survive.

These anti-gun laws are setting people up for failure. It's conditioning people to not protect themselves and that is simply irresponsible. Why make it harder for law abiding citizens to protect themselves? I strongly recommend everyone buy a gun legally, learn how to use it, store it safely and legally carry it everywhere you can. If you're a single woman living by yourself, you maybe targeted by a predator. If you're a cute college girl living on a GUN FREE ZONE campus, remember you'll be a very attractive target for a predator.  After all, you're not supposed to have a gun. If you're living in a upper middle class neighborhood 20 miles outside of a city, the desperate city-dwellers people may target you before they focus on their broke ass neighbors.

People tell me all of the time to get out of the city, but what they don't realize is that most of the desperate people in the city will be looking for suburbanites with resources.

After all, many people will assume that a family with three late model cars will have food. The funny thing is that if society collapsed tomorrow and the lights went out, there would be millions of upper middle class citizens with 50 inch TVs, 60,000 dollar cars, 300,000 dollar houses and less than a week of non-perishable food.

No matter how you feel about guns, if you're serious about helping your family survive, you can't ignore the need for a gun. Don't like the TV shows like "The Walking Dead" convince you that if there's a social breakdown, you will be able to pick up a firearm and shot with the marksmanship of a Navy Seal. If you get a gun, make you know how to use it. You don't want your first shots to happen during a crisis. And forcing law abiding citizens to take on an additional tax burden may put good people in a bad situation.

Criminals Will Rob Anybody at Anytime

By Reginald Kaigler (DEMCAD)

Are you a retired police officer? Maybe you were a police chief? Well, who gives a damn! At least, that's the story in Detroit. Former Detroit Police Department Chief Stanley Knox was robbed at gunpoint while he mowing his lawn. I live 60 miles north in an equally depressed city called Flint, Michigan. Both Flint and Detroit are among the most violent cities in the country. And just so you know, I have a CPL (concealed pistol license) in the state of Michigan and I always carry (whenever legally possible. And yes, I carry while I mow my lawn.

What amazed me about this story is that Knox was unarmed and wearing a gold necklace. Now, I'm not saying that he deserved to get robbed, but he should have been smarter than that. I'm poor and never wear jewelry, but even I'm packing.  This should be a warning for us all, watch your 6 O' clock. Criminals can strike at any time. it's getting so bad that i don't even want to shot my basketball with my .45 ACP. Have you ever tried doing a layup with a 45?

In Fresno, a man was arrested for turning a super soaker toy into a shotgun.I guess we have to be on the lookout for almost anything.

Not All Black Women Are Buying Into The Anti-GUN BS

I can't believe my eyes. Women. hell, black women on TV talking about using guns to defend themselves. Too often, when I hear a black woman talking about guns, it's about how she doesn't like them. But these women showed up for Ladies Night at a Detroit gun range and spoke the truth.

"if they're going to be the target of an attack, they want to make sure that they have a good aim," reporter explained.

Fox2 featured interviews with the ladies during a "Legally Armed In Detroit" (L.A.I.D.) sponsored FREE Ladies Shooting Day.

The segment also featured National Rifle Association credentialed Firearms Trainer Rick Ector and a whole lot of common sense. It's good to see some black women arming themselves, because I'm so used to hearing stupid anti-gun talking points from my people. This made my day.
