43 Million americans on Food Stamps?
More than 700,000 Oregon residents are now living on food stamps. The situation is also worsening national wide as more than 40 million Americans enroll in the anti-hunger program. The USDA is forecasting food stamp enrollment to reach 43 million people next fiscal year.
Many people say that this is a lagging indicator, but they say the same thing about unemployment and I'm still waiting on those full-time permanent jobs to materialize.

Food stamps lag 2 years. So if the recession ended in 09 it makes sense that next year it would hit its peak. And well jobs are increase every month substanially now too.
